That’s cause America gives America enough credit

And the United States wouldn’t have won single handed without the allies and Comintern as well. It’s not a contest, and I don’t get this mentality.

You gotta think about this too, we were untouched on the home front during the war. Industry working without interruptions and no shortage of manpower due to attrition.

Not to mention being fairly self sufficient in terms of raw resources. Not everything but much of what we needed for heavy industry was locally sourced in the americas.

My point is no one country did or could have won the war. Nor does our participation invalidate the sacrifices of allied and Comintern nations.

Lol this isn’t hearts of iron with war score for Christ’s sake.

I think the quote “WWII was won with American steel, British intelligence and Russian blood” applies here

Edit. Quote was Russian not soviet blood

At this point it’s useless to try.

Historians aren’t 100% in agreement that Soviet would have lost if alone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ9PiDvI4pY
Says UK received 3 times as much aid from US as USSR received, which provides some context for how much aid we are talking about (specifically: never the majority of Soviet’s industrial capacity).

For example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Glantz is the most prominent English-language historian of the Eastern Front.

According to Glantz (who is just 1 historian, other historians disagree):

> “If the Western Allies had not provided equipment and invaded northwest Europe, Stalin and his commanders might have taken twelve to eighteen months longer to finish off the Wehrmacht,”
>
> The result would probably have been the same, except that Soviet soldiers would have waded at France’s Atlantic beaches rather than meeting the Allies at the Elbe.

Soviet blood, American Steel, British Time. All equally valuable in winning and anyone who says otherwise is an arrogant cuck

Fair point, but what I think a lot of people are weary of on this sub is thinking that America won the whole thing themselves. For example, I was at the supermarket and a big magazine dedicated to D-Day remarked “The battle that won WW2” when if you had to pick a singular battle it would be either the defense of Moscow or Stalingrad.

No denying America helped a lot in the war. What probably annoys most people on this sub are the ones who go around stating shit like America single handedly won every global conflict cause those people are annoying as fuck.

This is honestly the most annoying thing about this subreddit. The pendulum has swung from “America did everything” to “America did nothing”.

Both are equally stupid.

Yes and no.

Could the European theatre have been won without American soldiers? It’d have taken much longer but signs point to yes.

The Pacific theatre? Not a chance in hell.

However, when discussing Europe, keep on mind that while the soldiers may or may not have been ultimately necessary, the American *supplies* were.
While Canada was the one “officially” bringing weapons and supplies and shit, it was America making them.

… And I guess leaving them abandoned at the border going “gee, I sure hope Canadians don’t sneak across the border and steal this fleet of over 100 fighter planes while we go have a sandwich. That surely would be unfortunate”

Source: My grandmother (a master welder) inspected planes in WWII – she claimed that’s exactly how it happened.

It took a combined effort

the reality is that without either the Americans or the soviets (take your pick) the allies wouldn’t have one. The invasion from the west couldn’t have been as successful without the Americans, and the invasion from the west with the Americans wouldn’t have been enough to take Berlin. The combined effort of the allies is what won the war in Europe.

We couldn’t have won without anyone else that participated in the war, either.

To put this meme in the spotlight and out deniers to rest.

Generally Zhukov himself stated:

“Now they say that the allies never helped us, but it can’t be denied that the Americans gave us so many goods without which we wouldn’t have been able to form our reserves and continue the war,”

“We didn’t have explosives, gunpowder. We didn’t have anything to charge our rifle cartridges with. The Americans really saved us with their gunpowder and explosives. And how much sheet steel they gave us! How could we have produced our tanks without American steel? But now they make it seem as if we had an abundance of all that. Without American trucks we wouldn’t have had anything to pull our artillery with.”

Source: https://www.rbth.com/defence/2016/03/14/lend-lease-how-american-supplies-aided-the-ussr-in-its-darkest-hour_575559

From that source:
“The USSR received a total of 44,000 American jeeps, 375,883 cargo trucks, 8,071 tractors and 12,700 tanks. Additionally, 1,541,590 blankets, 331,066 liters of alcohol, 15,417,000 pairs of army boots, 106,893 tons of cotton, 2,670,000 tons of petroleum products and 4,478,000 tons of food supplies made their way into the Soviet Union.”

That’s a ludicrous amount of goods. And that’s not including the 80 cargo ships sunk by the Germans en route to the USSR.
