Well yeah, if you don’t like America you can leave, and the same goes for anyone else who doesn’t like their own respective countries.

But the thing is, the thing everyone here seems to either forget or deliberately ignore is that if you’re going to enter another country you MUST respect its laws or you will be at the mercy of its government.

Our laws say that you *cannot* live here unless you are a legal citizen of the United States of America. If you want to become an American you do it the right way. You try to do it the wrong way, you’ll be arrested, separated from your families, processed, and sent the fuck back to where you came.

That’s the law, it’s harsh but it must be upheld without bias and without exception to keep our people safe. Our great President has every right in the book to enforce them because his first priority is the safety and well-being of American people, just like the first priority of Mexico’s president is HIS people, just like the President or Prime Minister of Canada’s priority for his people, etc etc.

If another country is going to shit we’re not just gonna let you waltz into ours without you doing the right thing. You can’t come in to America to be Mexican, Canadian, or any other nationality. If you come to America you need to come to be an American, to uphold our laws, and to respect our people.

American government is working as intended – if you don’t like America-as-intended, fuck off.

Shithole countries just don’t have a fucking clue; don’t like it? Fix it.

Easy!

You people act as if telling socialists to fuck off and go ruin some other country is a bad thing.

that’s

the

point

this post is literally advocating trump’s point… and it’s heavily upvoted here on an anti-trump sub just because you people never understood trump’s tweet in the first place 😛

Economic prosperity isn’t a reason for asylum. Mexico would have been a perfectly apt country to take them in. Their government is stable enough.

ironically, the people who have a problem with basic selfishness are the same ones who make selfish tweets about how much better they are.

There was just a story on NPR about Cubans in Miami and their support of Trump’s comments.

So basically “we left our country because we didn’t want to fix it, but you should go back to your country and fix it.”

Alanis Morrisette is probably sick to the back teeth of people explaining ‘ironic’ to her but this is a doozy.

For years, they’ve also been complaining our government has become bloated in size and spending, as well as over-reaching in power.

It’s almost like they’re trying to get rid of all the Leftwing and brown people…. Weird…. what would you call a system of government like that…….. Antifa? Anti-fascist? Yeah that sounds right.

And the same people who celebrate a group of people who hated their county so much they fought a war against it to try to split it in half.

They are also the same people who have been bitching nonstop about the government for decades. And by their own slogan state wholeheartedly that America is not a great country.

and are the same people that didn’t like their own country a few years ago when a black guy was President, and wanted to “fix” it, and even wore hats stating such.

They are the same people who hated their government until 2016.

And both groups of people are brown. It kind of seems like the proper place for brown people is where ever GOP people aren’t.

Not just asylum seekers, also people whose (grand-)parents were from foreign countries.

Well, except for European ones of course.

Just remember, these are the same people trying to deport native americans as ‘illegal immigrants’. Need to keep these deplorables in perspective.

Didn’t the Founding father’s stay and make a better government? With their logic, if they didn’t like taxation without representation, they should’ve just left!!

Its not ironic, it makes perfect sense..

if you [non-whites] dont like america, leave.. if you [non-whites] dont like your government, stay there!

translation: [non-whites] arent wanted in america!

I mean, they just love to think in contradictions. It’s those same people who are angry at immigrants for stealing their jobs while at the same complaining that they don’t do shit.

You know what’s funny? America was founded on the idea that patriotism is about **working together to change things we do not like about the country**- this might mean different things for different time periods, thus the vague language in the Constitution. But dissent, and activism, are some of the most patriotic things one can do in America. To leave is to surrender.

That kind of logic, of the slightest complexity, will explode the heads of about 50% of the population.

Nothing is more “bootstraps pulling” than leaving one’s family and friends to try and make a better living somewhere else, going into the unknown to a place where you know some people will hate you and you will probably start at the very bottom of the scale, being ready to take any job without complaining. Republicans should applaud immigrants. They are often the embodiment of personal initiative, hard work and enterprise.
