They were sent to war as cannon fodder, and expected to die. A pretty white memorial is easy to pay homage to once a year, then forget about the rest of the time. A living, albeit broken, vet is a constant reminder that war is a horrible thing for everyone directly involved. Warmongers don’t want to think about the casualties of their disgusting games.

Here me out what if we spent the money we spend on war on veterans instead (tbh they probably don’t need that much money)

How much does it cost to keep a marble monument clean and polished? How much do flowers cost? Now how much does it cost to give a sick homeless guy a home and medical care? Right. If you actually counted the number of dollars society spends on welfare for each living veteran, it’s more than what is spent per dead veteran.

So this cartoon doesn’t really deliver any insight and might in fact be wrong.

The solution is jobs, security, clean up, painting and day jobs for the homeless.

Most people would rather think that man is just a crazy drug addict who is stealing valor for sympathy. It’s hard for people to see/believe that we’ve let veterans down this badly in this country.

America has always preferred dead vets. Then you don’t have to do anything but slap a yellow ribbon sticker on your car.

At least gas is cheaper /s

The former is more profitable.

Conservative “Patriots” sure do care far more about symbolic gestures than helping actual people.

When they’re out fighting for Israel’s interests, they’re heroic patriots like in Michael Bay’s transformers. They even walk in slow motion.

But as soon as they come back, what happens?

Benefits. Housing. Medical. Pension.

Sounds like socialism to me.

That’s communism.

So you see, it’s perfectly rational for conservatives to punish these Lenin worshipping communists.

They’re hurting the billionaires and they told tucker that this is wrong.

This cartoon reminds me a lot of Ronald Reagan. He was all about the homeless need to help themselves. Most of those homeless were Vietnam Veterans. That is not even bringing up the AIDS epidemic that he ignored for most of his 8 years. 21,000 died and 36,000 infected in the U.S. before he made a public statement about it.

Conservatives are very brave with other people’s lives.

That is because only ~~good~~ financially acceptable veteran is a dead veteran.

All they require is a piece of land with few thousand pounds of marble on it, and occasional bouquet of flowers.

The “unknown” soldier requires no taxpayer support. Republicans are paranoid increased support of vets might lead to a tax increase.

How many bills to help Veterans are being held hostage by Moscow Mitch and the republican traitors? Last I checked it was 5-6. They talk a good talk and then gleefully screw over the people.

Don’t worry! Trump’s veterans charity is sending out checks left and right. Trump supports our veterans and is doing everything he can to help them, he says so. (Ex-pow’s need not apply.)

Trump said the check’s in the mail! Jesus is looking down from heaven giving Trump a great big smile.

President Trump, thank you for your sacrifice!

What a time to believe a lie.

EDIT: Whoops, I meant ‘what a time to be alive.’
