I’m just so confused about what I’m looking at.

It ain’t wrong. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to eat those bananas.

Does opencv have a machine learning in it O_o ?

I built a classifier for birds as a class project in college, this definitely would have messed my code up!

Why haven’t the algorithm detected the other two bananas??

If I understand correctly, the AI did mark both cases as a fruit you should not eat. For marketing purpose the project is ready and they even would not have to lie too much about it

Looking at this for a while has taken me on a ride:

1. No, those are ducks, the algorithm sucks
2. Wait, they look like bananas, so the algorithm is kinda right
3. Those are definitely bananas you shouldn’t eat, so the algorithm is flawless
4. Actually, aside from the feet, eyes and beaks, those bananas look perfectly edible. They’re perfectly yellow, and completely spoltess both on the inside and on the peel – qualities that the algorithm *should* be looking for. So the algorithm sucks again.
5. But hey, it *did* recognize that they look like bananas, which was probably the intention of the sculpture, so this algorithm is actually incredibly badass!
6. Hmm, a hyper intelligent computer ought to know that bananas don’t have feet, eyes and beaks – it should have also recognized them as ducks. This algorithm sucks!
7. But then again, it was only designed for food, and ducks aren’t food (at least on their live form), so the algorithm does exactly what it needs to do.
8. …except, they still look edible, save for the duck parts..

I don’t know what to think anymore!!

Looks closer to good ones than bad to me.
