  2. Interestingly, the marshmallow test has proven largely meaningless when taking into account the socio-economic situation of the child’s family/background. In other words, children who come from financially comfortable families might get treats often—those children are more able to hold on for treats because they can be assured of treats at some point in the not too distant future. Children in more dire circumstances who almost never get treats are more likely to grab at the first marshmallow because life has already taught them opportunities like that don’t come along often and you can’t trust future promises of treats.

  3. Sometimes it bums me out to know that as a kid i wouldn’t have passed the test and it makes me feel like I don’t have the special sauce needed to succeed 😕

  4. I worked for a nonprofit in Lexington Kentucky teaching kids about stem topics. I had one kid one time tell me that he hadn’t had so much fun on a field trip while learning so much at the same time. That really gives you a good feeling to know that the work you’re doing is actually benefiting kids who need it. I felt awesome

  5. Awww! Seems like sheldon cooper experimenting on howard’s babies in the latest big bang theory episode

  6. I read this wrongly as “If she could keep eating it for 10 minuets”
I am like dude who the heck wants to chew on a marshmellow for ten minuets that is disgusting.

  7. Today my 4 year old goes “Daddy, I love being alive. Because I get to spend it with you.”
    Right in the feels.

  8. This is the sort of kindness my daughter displays and I can hardly stand life because she’s too sweet and this world doesn’t deserve her 😭

  9. Awwwe this is so adorable, reminds me of the banana kid. I wish there are more kids like them and keep their good nature till they become adult.

  10. When you see the comment section working really hard to justify the construct and the kid just really wanted to troll gramps.

  11. I make weird scenarios in my head so this is how I pictured it:

“here’s chocolate. Don’t eat or touch it for 10 minutes and I’ll give you a second”

    “Sure grandpa”

    *10 minutes pass*

    “Can I have the second?”

    “Sure”

    Granps hands it over

    “want one”

*this is the best thing anyone has ever fucking said to me I will give my life for you*

  12. So sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttt

  13. I would’ve passed the shit out of a marshmallow test cause I don’t like marshmallows. I don’t know how I would have done with chocolate.
